To book a trial class, go to the login button in the top right hand corner of this page or click here. This will allow you to make an account and add your gymnast/ninja’s details. Once you have created an account, send us an email or give a call to let us know which day and time you would like to trial. Trial classes are the same cost as a regular class.

Balance introduces the foundations of movement; body awareness, safe landings, safe rolls, balance, grip strength, climbing and locomotion. That’s the technical speak for, we have a lot of fun learning different ways to move over, under, across and through obstacles designed to teach children how to use their bodies in a variety of physical ways. We also focus on the language of gymnastics/ninja which is built upon throughout their sporting journey with us.

Gymnastics is fun. We teach everything from a straight jump through to somersaults and have our skills broken down into “stages”. Children will start in an stage appropriate class for their age and progress through stages as they pass their 8 skills for each stage. As your child progresses, we have two streams; one is with age matched children and classes are developmentally appropriate for their age. The other is a fast-track program. If your child is progressing faster than their age matched peers, then they will still be with children of a similar age but will be in classes with other fast-track children.

Not everyone wants to learn Beam! At Balance, we have tumbling classes for children as well as teenage specific classes.

We also know that some gymnasts like to add a Bars workout into their so we have a Swing and Tumble option for those with some gymnastics background.

Parkour and tricking combined with ninja obstacle is what we call Ninja at Balance Brisbane. Each level, Bronze, Silver and Gold, has three stages within, Bronze 1, Bronze 2 etc. All children will start at the beginning, even if they have done gymnastics before. Ninja is a different sport and we must ensure the landing, rolls and vaults are learned in order to successfully navigate the ninja program.

Ninja Obstacle Racing is for those children wanting to build more muscle and endurance. We have a very large ninja rig, where you can learn to swing, lache and traverse a variety of obstacles as well as rapidly vault over obstacles to gain the fastest time, or just beat your friend in class.

Tricking involves strange named skills like “the machine”. It is full of action and tumbling but more aligned to ninja-style tumbling which includes more twisting than gymnastics classically does.

Balance Fit classes are designed to improve balance, agility and strength in fun environment. You might be swinging on a rope like our 90 year old athlete or regaining your leg strength and stability after a hip replacement. There is enough variety and safety built into the program that you can start where you feel comfortable and increase the difficulty as you become more confident.

The more different ways you use your body, the more you are able to do. Not just in childhood but well into your senior years. Developing physical confidence and competence at an early age reduces fear of new physical pursuits throughout life.

Gymnastics can be viewed as either a sport, or as a fundamental movement initiator. At Balance Brisbane, we believe in both. We have pathways to higher level gymnastics and ninja for those who wish to make gymnastics or ninja “their sport”. Many children, though,  will just love the way gymnastics and ninja help them jump higher, run faster, hit harder or climb further in their other sports.

  1. Promotes Physical Function: Fundamental movements form the basis of more complex physical activities, such as sports and other recreational pursuits. Maintaining proficiency in these movements helps to maintain overall physical function and reduces the risk of injury.
  2. Supports Independence: Fundamental movements are essential for activities of daily living, such as climbing stairs, carrying groceries, and getting in and out of bed. Maintaining proficiency in these movements supports independence and reduces the need for assistance.
  3. Improves Balance and Coordination: Fundamental movements require balance and coordination, which can decline with age. Practicing these movements regularly can help improve balance and coordination, reducing the risk of falls and other accidents. The better your childhood balance is, the more likely you are to have good balance as you age.
  4. Enhances Quality of Life: Engaging in physical activity that includes fundamental movements can enhance overall health and quality of life, by reducing the risk of chronic diseases, improving mental health, and boosting self-esteem. In the moment though, it is fun, boosts dopamine when you achieve a skill and builds “street cred” with your friends when you can do a cool ninja or gymnastics skill around your friends.
  5. Promotes Longevity: A well-rounded fitness program that includes fundamental movements can help maintain physical function, prevent injury, and promote overall health, which can contribute to a longer, healthier life.

Amazing – H3

My son has been attending gymnastics classes for about a year now and I have seen amazing progress in his strength and coordination. The coaches are wonderful and always make sure the kids are having fun while also pushing them to improve. I highly recommend this program.

Great for Kids

My daughter has been taking gymnastics classes at this gym for 3 years and we couldn’t be happier with the program. The coaches are great with the kids, always encouraging and supportive. My daughter has also grown so much in her strength and flexibility and confidence.
